FacilityVR Careers Hub in ChatGPT and Claude
Ask your AI assistant about data centre jobs, career events and the roles that run data centres. FacilityVR Careers Hub answers from the listings employers and recruitment agencies publish on FacilityVR, and from its own role pages, and links to each one’s page.
No assistant? Ask about data centre careers on our website: the same answers, from the same tools.
What it does
- Finds open data centre jobs by what you’re looking for and where.
- Gives one job in full: what the role involves, who it’s for, the terms, and where to apply.
- Lists upcoming career events, such as open days, site tours and webinars, and where to register.
- Explains the roles that run data centres, what each needs, and the ways in from a trade, IT or school.
- Finds the courses on FacilityVR that prepare for a role, and searches every course anyone can enrol in.
- Counts where the data centre jobs are, by role type and level, and how that has changed since the last snapshot.
It’s read-only. It never applies for a job, registers you for an event or signs you in: you do that yourself, on the listing’s page. It’s free, and you don’t need a FacilityVR account. Nearly every listing today is in Australia.
Add it
FacilityVR Careers Hub isn’t in Claude’s or ChatGPT’s directory yet. Until it is, add it yourself with this address:
https://mcp.facilityvr.com/careers Menu names change from time to time. If a step reads a little differently, follow the nearest match.
In Claude
- In Claude on the web or the desktop app, open Customize, then Connectors.
- Select + Add, then Add custom connector.
- Name it “FacilityVR Careers Hub”, paste the address above, and select Continue.
- Under Authentication, choose No sign in, then select Add.
- In a chat, open the + menu, then Connectors, and turn FacilityVR Careers Hub on.
Custom connectors work on every Claude plan; on the Free plan you can add one. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds it under Organization settings, then Connectors, and members connect it from Customize.
In ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins).
- Select the + button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it “FacilityVR Careers Hub”, and paste the address above as the Server URL.
- Under Authentication, choose No authentication. Read the warning, select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
- Install it. Then, in a chat, type @ and choose FacilityVR Careers Hub.
ChatGPT shows a warning for any server you add yourself. A work or school account’s settings may not allow it; ask its administrator.
What you can ask
Your assistant chooses which of these to use. If it doesn’t use FacilityVR Careers Hub, name it in your question: “Use FacilityVR Careers Hub to find jobs in Perth.” It never asks for your location, so say the place you mean.
- Search data centre jobs
search_jobs - Open jobs that match words such as a job title or a skill, a place as you’d say it (“Western Sydney”, “Victoria”), a country, and on site, hybrid or remote. Up to 10 at a time, with more on request.
- Get a job’s details
get_job - One job in full, from a search or from its page link: what the role involves, what it needs, the terms, and the page to apply on.
- List data centre career events
list_career_events - Upcoming open days, site tours and webinars, by place, country, start date, and in person or online, with the page to register on.
- List data centre roles
list_data_centre_roles - The roles in data centre operations, rung by rung from a first job to running a site, and the ways in from outside the industry. Name a country for its own pages, where FacilityVR has them.
- Explain a data centre role
explain_role - One role in full, named in your own words: what it does, a shift, the skills and the level each needs, the ways in and on, courses that prepare for it, and its open jobs; in a country with its own pages, also its licences and nationally recognised units. If your words fit more than one role, it asks which.
- Find a pathway between roles
find_career_pathway - The way from where you are, a trade, IT support, school or another data centre role, to the role you want, step by step, with what each step adds.
- Find courses that prepare for a role
find_courses_for_role - Courses on FacilityVR whose publishers say they prepare for a role, and the nationally recognised units that line up with it, which registered training organisations teach.
- Search data centre courses
search_courses - Courses anyone can enrol in on FacilityVR’s courses site, by topic and level, with each one’s provider, length, price and page. A course prepares for work; none qualifies anyone.
- Explore the data centre job market
explore_job_market - How many data centre operations jobs employers are advertising, by place, role type and level, from Facility Labs’ latest vacancy snapshot, with the change since the one before and a link to the vacancy map; and what those ads ask for: experience, licences, skills and pay where shown, each figure with the number of ads behind it. It counts ads; employers are never named.
For example
- “Find data centre jobs in New South Wales.”
- “Are there any data centre technician jobs in Western Sydney?”
- “Tell me more about the first one. What does it need?”
- “Are there hybrid or remote data centre jobs in Australia?”
- “Any data centre career events coming up in Melbourne?”
- “What does a data centre technician do, and how do I become one?”
- “I’m a licensed electrician. How could I move into data centres?”
- “Which courses would help me become a data centre technician?”
- “Are there beginner courses on data centre electrical safety?”
- “Where are the data centre electrical jobs in the United States, and at what level?”
How results are ordered
Jobs come in order of how well they match what you asked: the job’s title first, then its role, then its place. Equal matches come newest first. Events come soonest first.
Nothing about who posted a listing changes its place. No employer or agency can pay for a higher place. Organisations run by Facility Labs, the company behind FacilityVR, are ranked by the same rule, including its recruitment agency, Facility People, and their listings say who runs them. An agency’s advert says it’s an agency’s, and names the employer unless the employer has asked to stay confidential.
Where the answers come from
Every job and career event is written by the employer or recruitment agency that publishes it on FacilityVR, and is shown as they wrote it. Each answer links to the listing’s page: check the details there before you act on them. The answer itself is written by your assistant, from what FacilityVR Careers Hub gives it.
What it says about roles comes from FacilityVR’s reference framework for data centre operations, as each release is published on the roles’ pages (Data centre careers), under CC BY 4.0. The courses are described by their publishers. A course doesn’t qualify anyone for a role, and licence information isn’t legal advice.
Counts of the job market come from Facility Labs’ vacancy snapshots, published monthly on the vacancy map: the open roles at the employers it surveyed, read from their own job systems and never from job boards. They aren’t the whole market, and employers are counted, never named.
Roles and some jobs carry codes and units from these sources:
- Source: Australian Bureau of Statistics, OSCA – Occupation Standard Classification for Australia, 2024, Version 1.0, and its correspondence to ISCO-08. CC BY 4.0.
- Units of competency from training.gov.au, © Commonwealth of Australia, captured 2026.10. Kept as published.
- Standard Occupational Classification 2018, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Codes and titles as carried in the O*NET 31.0 Database (USDOL/ETA, CC BY 4.0).

Privacy
FacilityVR Careers Hub never asks for your name, your contact details or your location, and we don’t receive your conversation. For each request, we keep the tool, what it asked for (up to 200 characters), the assistant’s app, the result and how long it took, in logs kept for 30 days. Your internet address, and any identifier your assistant sends, are used only for our rate limits. They’re held in memory for a minute and never written down. Counts of requests are seen only by Facility Labs’ platform staff, never by an employer or agency.
