April 2026 Updates

What’s New

  • Organise scenarios into multi-module courses with mixed content delivered across a structured learning journey. Suits both facilitated and self-paced learning. Support for the following content types:

    • Narrative - a rich-text HTML article
    • Activity - Discussion, private research etc.
    • Quiz - True/false, multiple choice, matching, and short-answer questions
    • Resource - Uploaded document
    • Video - Embedded video with introductory text (for videos hosted on either YouTube or Vimeo)
    • Scenario - FacilityVR scenario
  • 3D Editor added to Layout page in FacilityVR Console. Provides for “human in the loop” polishing of AI generated layouts by visually adding, removing, repositioning and rescaling:

    • Safety signs (48 different signs taken from the ISO set
    • Custom labels
    • Equipment and decorations selected from our curated reference set
    • Connectors that build multi-stepped associations between equipment items. Perfect for installing pipes, cables, chains, fences, partitions and other connection types commonly found in facilities.
    • Nested Spaces - nested within other spaces for special purposes like air-locks, walk-in cupboards, cool rooms etc.,
    • State & reactions that initialise or set equipment properties during runtime.
  • Added gizmo to 3D editor which enables selected equipment to be moved, rotated or resized with immediate visual feedback to user.

  • Added support for changing changing colour and texture of selected equipment, connectors and individual equipment parts.

  • Added option to display a ruler along the base of walls in the layout. Useful for getting a sense of scale when designing the facility or placing equipment. Measurements are displayed in metric or imperial (US) scale based on organization setting.

  • Added buid type scenarios. Clones a layout to the learner so that they can build, configure and connect equipment to model real-life specifications

  • Meshy.ai integration enables conversion of uploaded 2D image to 3D models for custom equipment rendering.

  • Added “scenario equipment” including bulk items like cartons and boxes which persist only for the lifetime of the scenario run.

  • Added support for multi-level structures with players able to teleport between levels using stair or elevator structures.

  • Added a persistent tool belt at the bottom of the viewport in performance-type scenarios. Learners can select tools and PPE equipment from the tool belt as required by the scenario.

  • Added range of lock-out-tag-out components that can be selected from the tool belt during performance-type scenarios.

  • Added pop-up hints in 3D Designer and build-type scenarios showing the name and location of hotspots under the cross hairs.

  • Added equipment information cards that display for equipment under the crosshairs when the “i” key or “F1” key is pressed in 3D Designer and buid-type scenarios.

  • New Agency account type for professional game designers. Agencies can export FacilityVR scenarios as progressive web applications that can be run a scenario independently outside the FacilityVR environment.

Enhancements

  • Launch of new multi-page FacilityVR website with new Resources section featuring News & Events, Customer stories, Documentation & release notes.
  • Automatic navigational signage added above doorways
  • Rearranged sidebar to organise similar or related items in groups (Scenarios: scenarios, assignments and results, video library; and Equipment: Types, models, reference information)
  • Choose whether to import bundled scenarios when using a layout from the Template Gallery
  • Add canvas 2D gauges to equipment to represent normal and abnormal equipment status
  • Gauges and LEDs now resoibd inherently to the click of their associated power button.
  • Added “explore layout” button to VR headsets (was previously restricted to only running performance-type scenarios in the headset)
  • Added regional setting in organisation settings. Informs the AI Layout builder and AI scenario builder of regional context when creating layouts and equipments according to local rules and business practice
  • Moving doorways and windows in the 3D Editor aligns the background scenery with then new position of the cutout.
  • Unpublishing a layout immediately hides the layout and any associated scenarios from the learner view
  • Added button to make spectator view full screen
  • Educator and admin prevented from deleting a layout that has scenarios attached
  • Educator and admin prevented from deleting a scenario that is referenced in a course
  • The VR headset user experience with the addition of locomotion using controller joysticks and additional Heads up Displays for scenario guidance.
  • Multiple security fixes and enhancements
